Ol’, Yellow Balls - By Sequoia – Anderson Valley Advertiser, Sept. 19, 1990
I’m getting so sick of hearing about “The Earth First! Initiative.” Grow up Don Nelson and you guys with the yellow (car antenna) balls.
An EF! initiative would have required wildlife corridors all over the state.
An EF! initiative would have required the timber corporations to sell back their lands to the people for the price they originally paid for them plus the taxes they paid minus the cost of restoring those lands to viable forest (not tree farm) habitat.
An EF! initiative would end all clearcutting immediately.
An EF! initiative would stop all logging, until studies could prove ways to log without harming the forest ecosytem.
An EF! initiative wouldn’t allow Hal Arbit, a major stockholder in L-P. & G-P. to cut the initiative arid put McElroy in charge to further sabotage it.
An EF! initiative wouldn’t allow National Sierra Clubbers, those slimy compromisers, to be a part of it.
I’ll vote for Prop. 130 because, milquetoast as it is, it’s the best on the ballot—but don’t call it an Earth First! initiative. It’s a compromise worked out by “moderates” who are more concerned with jobs and economics then they are with the future of life on earth and the forests.
No Compromise In Defense of Mother Earth, Earth First!
